Raven's Den
Raven's Den is fully committed to providing the best results we can for you and your dog. Each interaction will vary from person to person (and dog to dog). We will work with you to identify and implement the service that will best fit your situation and produce the best results. As such, depending on your situation, your dog and the service you are looking for from Raven's Den, there are some things that may not be achievable for you and your dog at any particular time.
Raven's Den requires owners to have or supply a few items in order to properly train your dog. As each dog and owner are different, the list of required items can vary. The list will be enclosed in an email at the start of the transaction between Raven's Den and the owner. The required items are expected to be either supplied or reimbursed by the owner.
While we at Raven's Den are well educated and knowledgeable, we cannot guarantee perfect results from our dog training, nor are we able to know everything about any breeders or shelters Raven's Den may put you in touch with. We are not liable for any damage or injury your dog may cause or anything that may happen to your puppy or dog.
I am a young but knowledgeable trainer who has loved and worked with dogs since early childhood. I learned long ago that there is nothing quite like loving a dog because they never stop loving you back.
Now I have taken my childhood passion and turned it into something more. I have spent time learning training techniques from Jillian Gartner of American Poodles At Work (APAW) and, over the last ten years, I have studied many positive reinforcement training methods of various other top dog trainers.
Dogs are the kindest and most forgiving species of animal on the planet. There is no reason for humans to treat them like lesser creatures in order to train them.
The theories of dominance training and other training methods based on the observation of wolves in captivity have been completely debunked. Positive reinforcement has been proven to be the training method that gets the best and longest lasting results. After all, when humans do hard work, they are compensated, often with money, but also with emotional support and approval. Dogs will work harder for their owners if they are rewarded in a similar fashion.
Positive reinforcement is the only training method utilized by Raven's Den.
Raven's Den also uses and advocates clicker training. The clicker creates a bonding language between the owner and dog more effectively than any other training tool. Once the dog is taught that the clicker means that a treat will follow, the clicker becomes a powerful tool. To the dog, it means "yes, well done! You're going to get something amazing now because you did such a great job!"
